Proposals & Voting

Info

At OtterHome, we believe in the power of community-driven decision making. We welcome proposals from any member of the community through our forums. To ensure that proposals are easily readable by prospective voters, we encourage proposers to follow the provided template when creating a thread. If a poll is desired for a proposal, please contact a member of the core team or a community team member.

Once a proposal gains enough traction, it may be brought up for voting on our Snapshot voting platform. The community will vote with $Home tokens to decide the outcome.

You can find our Snapshot voting platform here, where all OtterHome proposals are housed.

To vote, you must have a certain amount of voting power, which is measured in OtterPower (OP). OP is calculated as follows:

  • Each $Home token in the $Home-ETH pool is worth 2 OP.

  • Each $Home held via xHome tokens is worth 1 OP.

  • For a vote to pass and become binding, it must gain a quorum of at least 5 million OP.

Please note:

To be an eligible voter for any proposal on our Snapshot, you must have OP from any or all of the three options above at the time of the vote being started. This means that you cannot simply buy $Home tokens to vote on an ongoing vote, and is meant to reduce the risk of influence by whales and flash loaners. At OtterHome, we strive for a fair and democratic voting process that represents the interests of our entire community.
